Our History

MissionOur goal at Capitol Pool Service, Inc., is to provide the highest quality service to our customers while recognizing our responsibility to conserve resources, protect the environment, and conduct our business with integrity at all times. Capitol Pool Service, Inc. was founded in 1976 by Dave Slattery and Ron Callaghan.  Dave had more than seven years of pool management experience working for one of the major pool companies in the area.  Ron, who graduated from Georgetown University had some banking and finance experience to lend to the effort.  In the early 1980’s we were joined by Jon Slattery, Dave’s brother, whose engineering background was a perfect fit for the complicated timers, heaters, and pumps of modern swimming pool technology. 
 Drew Essig, our Residential Service Manager, started as summer help as a high school student.  A few years after he graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1998, he returned to us in a full-time capacity.

 Raid Jaber, our Senior Technician has been an important member of our team since 1988.  Mike Kane started as a technician and quickly became an integral part of the team, keeping the technicians supplied with everything they needed daily.  Ro, Tammy, and Cori make up our office support staff. Cori is the first voice you'll hear when you call the office.  She's our newest office staff member but has quickly become an essential part of the team.  Ro has been with Capitol Pools for over 10 years.  She brings insight and experience to all aspects of the business, especially renovations and pool covers.  Tammy joined us in 2020, bringing many years of office and customer service experience with her.  Together, with our trained professional technicians, we strive to lead the industry in all aspects of pool service, repair, and renovations.
